The law school will host a panel discussion on Sept. 21 that explores the impact of Megan’s Law in Pennsylvania and new federal requirements concerning the registration of sex offenders.

The panel will feature: 

• Karl Baker, an attorney with the Defender Association of Philadelphia 
• Julia Hall, professor of sociology and coordinator the of Criminal Justice Program at Drexel University 
• Christopher McFillin, a supervisor in the Sex Offender Unit of the Philadelphia Adult Probation and Parole Department 
• Diane Moyer, legal director of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape 
• Moderator Barry Zakireh, director of Joseph J. Peters Institute Adult Outpatient Services

The event is co-sponsored by the Earle Mack School of Law; the Drexel College of Arts and Sciences; Pennsylvania Prison Society; the law school’s chapters of the Criminal Law Society, the National Lawyers Guild, and the American Constitution Society; the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania and the Civil Rights Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association.

The panel, which begins at 5:30 p.m. in Room 140, will be followed by a reception.
